Yew
Yew wood is one of the hardest of all softwoods, making it a great wood for furniture making, carving and turning. The yew tree is mentioned in myths and cultures all over the world, used by man for at least 150,000 years. It is a highly adaptable tree with superb regenerative properties.
The pale coloured sap wood of yew is very soft and is the most and flexible whereas the orange colour, which is known as the heart wood, is not as elastic but is highly resistant.
